GO Partner Highlight

Axia Ministries

Axia exists to support and strengthen the families who are caring for vulnerable children. Whether it be children who are currently in or have spent time in foster care, or children experiencing poverty or homelessness, Axia seeks to walk alongside the families who are daily loving on and meeting the needs of these children, through mentoring, provision of basic needs, care packages, support groups, and meals. Please pray for Axia as we continue to provide support for many local foster and adoptive families and for connections to be made with the families we interact with at the resource center at Canyon High School.

Pastoral Blog: Ken Kistler

It’s refreshing to remember that the men who went on to be the pillars of Christianity failed numerous times.

Mark 4 finds the disciples in the boat with Jesus.  They’re crossing the Sea of Galilee when a massive storm threatens to sink them.  In their struggle for survival, someone notices that Jesus is out cold, sleeping in the back of the boat.  They wake Him and watch Him calm the storm. Life-threatening problem, solved.

Then Jesus’ simple words crystalize the truth He wanted the disciples to learn.

“Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” (Mark 4:40)

There’s fear, or there’s faith.  Fear either dominates our life; or our faith in God stands like a fortress to defend us.  It’s one or the other.  Christ wants our confidence in His power, love, and control to protect us from the monster of fear.

Fear not.  Have faith!
